International driving documents
The international driving permit, the authorisation to drive another person's vehicle abroad and the green card insurance certificate.
International driving permit
Requirements for citizens of Montenegro to obtain an international driving permit:
- a valid national driving licence
- identity card or passport
- two photographs
The international driving permit is valid for three years from the date of issue, provided the national licence does not expire sooner.
Authorisation to drive another person's vehicle abroad
It is issued in the presence of the owner of the vehicle (the owner's authorisation) and of the person who will be driving it.
Documents required to obtain the authorisation:
- from the owner — a valid vehicle registration document
- from the driver — a passport
The international authorisation is valid until the vehicle registration document expires.
Green card insurance certificate
It is issued by insurance companies, on the basis of the vehicle's standard insurance policy and its registration document.
